The New Blue & Brown Kits Are Here
Well, not actually here in Utah, but shipping from Squadra on 9/4. So we should have them mid-next week. Thanks to everyone for being patient. We will be the first team in the U.S. to be wearing new patterns for Squadra’s ONZA line. We also have been extended a bro deal to put together a cold weather clothing order with low minimums. So after we get the goods, I’ll be hitting everyone up to see if there is any interest in long sleeve jerseys and vests. Stay tuned.

Thanks to Greg Demgen, aka Dough for modeling.
New Bibshort Design Finalized
We are pleased to unveil our 2009 bibshort design which completes the new team kit. Don (the design guy at Squadra) was working on a new design for us based on a yet-to-be-released pattern that incorporates sublimated side panels, back panel and lower leg wrap panels, all in one piece of fabric. We will be the first team in the U.S. that will get this new cut, as Squadra won’t be introducing it into their line until 2010. Take a look and see how it jives with the jersey design. We tried in the past to carry the stripes all the way down, but it never looked quite right because of the different fabric panels. Visit the Clothing Page to Pre-Order your bibshorts now, as we will only do one order for bibs this year. We will offer both men’s and women’s. The women’s have a special women-specific chamois pad and a shorter length cut. Please note, the images make it look like these are not bibshorts, but this is just for design purposes to show off the printed area. We are definitely ordering bibs, and only bibs.

2009 X-Men Jersey Design
New Jersey Designs
Below are three options for 2009 X-Men jersey designs. Not really new designs, but color choices. Here’s some history. From about 1996 to 2000, we had the blue and black stripes. This is the classic old-school design, before we started messing with colors. There was a white and light blue version for two years, then a green and white that didn’t work out too well, then in 2006-2008, we went with the red and blue comic book colors. As much as I liked the change of the red and blue, we heard “spiderman”, “bert and ernie”, and “Backyardigans.” The three options below are where we are heading this year. Perhaps a returnt to the classic blue and black? What about the new blue and brown? Give us your thoughts, as we will be making a decision soon based on what the group wants. As always, clothing will be manufactured by Squadra, which means it won’t be cheap, but it will last forever.

The red and blue version from 2006 to 2008.

Perhaps the newest color combo for 2009?
X-Men Dues Paid Up With The Feds
OK, X-Men, we have renewed our club dues through usacycling’s handy online website thingie doodad. What this means is The X-Men is all officially good-to-go as a USA Cycling registered road and mountain bike cycling club. So if you are renewing your license, plan to be a member in good standing (pay dues and buy a new jersey) you can indicate “X-Men” or Club # 6034 on your renewal application.
Updated Info On Membership Page
I just updated some details on the Membership page, including some basic info on the difference between being a USA Cycling “Sponsored” club versus an “Unsponsored” club. Basically, we’re “Unsponsored”, unless anyone has a bunch of sponsors and feels like putting on a bike race (trust me, you don’t want to). For any members interested in riding for the X-Men in 2009, please contribute by paying annual dues of $25. I have set up a club Paypal account and as soon as it is verified, will post a button on the Membership page to make it easy.
