X-Men Cycling Club

Many club members and cycling fashionistas have asked if we were going to put together a cold weather clothing order. We have negotiated some great prices on Vests and Long Sleeve jerseys. Head on over to the online store, place a pre-order for vests and/or long sleeves, and we will do a small order. Delivery is looking like early to mid-December, which means you’ll have stuff for the tail end of cyclocross season (maybe), nordic ski season, and spring 2010. Prices are cheap for custom clothing in small quantities, so once again, Squadra is hooking us up.

We’re trying to get an idea of who is interested in ordering some custom X-Men cold weather clothing? We have again been given super low pricing for long sleeve jerseys, jackets, and vests. Who’s in? I will post thumbnail images of the designs in our X-Men Online Store, and we will take pre-orders once the images are up.

Well, not actually here in Utah, but shipping from Squadra on 9/4. So we should have them mid-next week. Thanks to everyone for being patient. We will be the first team in the U.S. to be wearing new patterns for Squadra’s ONZA line. We also have been extended a bro deal to put together a cold weather clothing order with low minimums. After trading a few emails back and forth with Dough (Greg Demgen, Sales and Marketing Chief at Squadra), it looks like our new clothing will be ready to ship from Squadra in Carlsbad, California, to X-Men HQ in Park City, Utah. Thanks to all the club members who placed their orders promptly and have waited patiently. We got a late start this year with the new kit, but I am feeling good about getting the club back on track and this is just the start. I will post again when the goods arrive. Thanks!

We are pleased to unveil our 2009 bibshort design which completes the new team kit. Don (the design guy at Squadra) was working on a new design for us based on a yet-to-be-released pattern that incorporates sublimated side panels, back panel and lower leg wrap panels, all in one piece of fabric. We will be the first team in the U.S. that will get this new cut, as Squadra won’t be introducing it into their line until 2010. Take a look and see how it jives with the jersey design. We tried in the past to carry the stripes all the way down, but it never looked quite right because of the different fabric panels. The women’s have a special women-specific chamois pad and a shorter length cut. Please note, the images make it look like these are not bibshorts, but this is just for design purposes to show off the printed area. We are definitely ordering bibs, and only bibs.

2009 X-Men Jersey Design

Below are three options for 2009 X-Men jersey designs. Not really new designs, but color choices. Here’s some history. From about 1996 to 2000, we had the blue and black stripes. This is the classic old-school design, before we started messing with colors. There was a white and light blue version for two years, then a green and white that didn’t work out too well, then in 2006-2008, we went with the red and blue comic book colors. As much as I liked the change of the red and blue, we heard “spiderman”, “bert and ernie”, and “Backyardigans.” The three options below are where we are heading this year. Perhaps a returnt to the classic blue and black? What about the new blue and brown? Give us your thoughts, as we will be making a decision soon based on what the group wants. As always, clothing will be manufactured by Squadra, which means it won’t be cheap, but it will last forever.
